Sayonara, SEGA Heroes, R.I.P.
Feb. 28th, 2021 07:24 amSEGA Heroes was the first mobile RPG app I played where you have to match colored symbols in order to attack. I liked it, but I can't say I was surprised when they announced its removal. I appreciated them letting us players get extra stuff in the app's final days; I was able to unlock all the available Sonic characters because of that.
As usual when it comes to small games like this, I liked the casual storyline. I enjoyed Sonic, Amy, and Cream's interactions with each other and the other crossover characters. (The only part I disliked was Amy telling Blaze from Streets of Rage that Shadow was "sometimes" a criminal. Like... to me, Sonic Forces established that he's a good guy, once and for all, despite what anything seems.)
( Click here to see a moment with Cream. )
I also remember staring in shock when certain enemies used automatic weapons to pelt my characters with bullets. o.O That's for Maria, I would think to myself whenever I beat them.
I hope someday there will be a permanent Sonic RPG of proper quality.
