Hi there and welcome to my Dreamwidth journal!

Here you'll find posts about my main fandom, Sonic the Hedgehog! I may also post about other fandoms, which will always be of the videogame or animated show variety, because I love gaming and cartoons. Any content that contains things like ships or mature subjects will be neatly tucked beneath a cut.

I like to post discussion blogs, my fanworks, recommendations, lists, the occasional real-life post, promos, challenges, memes, etc.

I think Sonic's first game might have been the first videogame I ever played. My house had Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 for the Sega Genesis in the '90s. I also loved watching the SatAM and Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons as a kid. I saw a little of Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 from my cousin and Blockbuster, respectively, but didn't really know about Modern Sonic until Sonic X first aired in 2003. I played Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog, then my interest faded, rekindled, and solidified years later, around 2018.

I love the potential for its lore and characters, and I love the overarching themes of world/nature's beauty, freedom, adventure, making the most of my time while I can, and perseverance.

Here are some of my random Sonic the Hedgehog preferences:

• Favorite character: Maria Robotnik. I like how she's a Robotnik and I wish I knew more about her, like what her favorite color and flower was. I like the fan concept of her as a hedgehog, but prefer her original human self the most.
• Favorite song: "Supporting Me." I like the official remixes and even some fanmade ones, but prefer the original version the most.
• Favorite show: Sonic X
• Ships: Shadria, Silvaze, Knouge, and platonic Sonamy, in that order.
• I prefer the voice casts of the Sonic Adventure and Sonic X eras over the Roger-Craig-Smith-era cast for the Modern characters. I do enjoy the R.C.S.-era cast as Boom characters, though.
• I prefer not to think of Mobians as having ages the way humans do, but "stages" instead, like a Child stage and a Teenager stage.
• I prefer the 3D games over the 2D games. And I like hub worlds.
• I like having the humans and the Mobians sharing one world together.
