I wasn't planning on playing The Sims 3 again, but when I saw the Steam Summer Sale, it made me look up LGR's review on Late Night again. I realized that the way the Sims look didn't bother me that much anymore, so I tried firing TS3 up again, starting fresh. To my pleasant surprise, it loaded up way faster than the last time I played. I had an older computer back then, so now my game has gone from taking 30 minutes to load to taking under 5!

Having lots more experience with building thanks to The Sims 4, I had fun messing with other homes in the world. Create-A-Style is a pleasure not to be taken for granted!

The game starts and I quickly realized how much there was to accomplish. In The Sims 4, I physically wrote down my Sim's goals for the day. In TS3, I remembered I don't have to do that anymore; I can just dive in. Skills and job searching were my first priorities. I found a seed, but oh my! I need to be a certain Gardening level to plant it. I sent one of my Sims to plan his outfit... and he pulled out the dresser drawer before doing so! My other Sim put out her hand and felt the water running from the bathtub before getting in! Everyone behaved so well when it came to following and unfollowing the commands I sent and cancelled! They are much less hyperactive than TS4 Sims, yet just the right amount of goofy... Perfectly balanced quirky.

I had so much fun that I don't even mind the fact I'm missing out on The Sims 4's new Nature's Calling limited time event. It won't end for a while, but I think I may just stick with playing Sims 3 for the time being.
