Sonic Movie 3
Oct. 18th, 2025 03:34 pmI finally watched the third live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie. ðŸ˜
Ahh, it was satisfying to see at last! The two trailers did it justice. =)
I'll have to check out the other movies again, because the 2nd film made me think that G.U.N. was a newly established division in the government. Now I'm thinking it was just super secret and inactive until Sonic and co. spurned its revival? Because, you know, it's connected to Shadow, who came to Earth 50 years ago. Speaking of which, it was interesting how he crash-landed on the planet in a mini Black Comet instead of being organically created by Professor Gerald. Speaking of which, I was wondering how they were going to explain his presence in the current day. Turns out he's just 110 years old. Not a hologram; no immortality experiments... unless I misunderstood and him keeping Shadow's quill slowed his aging?
Not that it mattered in the end... The way he died was... Oof. Could've been handled better. Too bad he was just purely a villain. It would've helped to see how much Maria meant to him if they had a nice scene together of just the two of them... like Maria and Shadow... Ahem, which leads me to...
Ahhhh!! Shadow and Maria!! So cute!! The skating! Showing him how to dance! Drawing a funny rabbit face on his glass! I got a good haul of screenshots to admire. =)
"I don't know what I'd do without you." Oh, my heart!! If I didn't already know them, I'd probably fall in love all over again. ♥
Also, I liked Shadow watching and getting into the telenovela. XD
In the final battle, I wasn't expecting "Live and Learn" music to play, so that was neat. For a moment, I almost thought Sonic was going to turn into his Dark form, given how angry and vengeful he was when he sought the Master Emerald. I'm not disappointed, though.
One more interesting thing at the end of the film was how they decided to reveal Amy first, before showing that Shadow had survived the destruction of the Eclipse Cannon. It makes me wonder what the fourth movie will be about. 🤔(I can't help but laugh at Metal Sonic for always looking the exact same way whether it's in a spinoff like Boom or even live-action. XD)
Overall, Sonic 3 fulfilled my expectations and I look forward to viewing it again and again. ^_^
